Countersunk Head Cross Recessed Self Tapping Screws DIN 7982 C Type
DIN 7982 / ISO 7050 C type countersunk head cross recessed self tapping screws in 1022A carbon steel or 304 / 316 / 410 stainless, ST2.2-ST6.3 (#2-#14), sitting flush in sheet metal, enclosures and metal frames.
DIN 7982 Countersunk Flush Seating
,H Type Phillips Cross Recess
,1022A Carbon Steel 304 410 Grades
A flat countersunk self tapping screw engineered for thin sheet metal. The 80° countersunk head seats fully into a matching countersink, so the head finishes flush with the workpiece surface — no protrusion, no snagging, no secondary machining. The C type coarse (spaced) thread cuts its own mating thread in pre-drilled pilot holes in mild steel sheet, aluminium, and thin-wall profiles.
- True flush seating. 80° countersunk head angle with a controlled head-to-shank , so the head sits flat in punched or drilled countersinks instead of rocking.
- DIN 7982 / ISO 7050 C type geometry. Not a raised-countersunk (DIN 7973) or a square-drive flat head — this is the metric C type coarse-thread form with a full ST2.2–ST6.3 range, widely specified on European sheet metal drawings.
- H type cross recess. cross recessed H form to ISO 4757, recess size H1 for ST2.2–ST2.9, H2 for ST3.5–ST4.8, H3 for ST5.5–ST6.3; recess depth m varies by size per DIN 7982.
- Four material routes in one part number family. Cold heading grade 1022A carbon steel for high-volume assembly, plus 304, 316 and 410 stainless for corrosion or magnetic-response requirements.

| Option | Base Material | Hardness | Corrosion / Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carbon | Case-hardened 1022A carbon steel | surface hardness ≥ 450 HV0.3 | core 270–390 HV, per ISO 2702 / GB/T 3098.5 |
| 304 | Stainless steel A2 (1.4301) | HV 180–220 | General indoor / outdoor corrosion resistance, essentially non-magnetic in the annealed condition; cold heading and thread rolling may induce slight magnetism |
| 316 | Stainless steel A4 (1.4401) | HV 180–220 | Marine / chloride and chemical environments |
| 410 | Stainless steel 410 (1.4006) | HRC 30–36 | Hardened martensitic grade for abrasive or repeated-run driving, magnetic |
- Sheet metal fabrication: flush assembly of 0.5–2.0 mm cold rolled and galvanised panels.
- Electrical enclosures and control cabinets: flat internal faces so cable trays and gaskets sit without interference.
- Automotive body panels and interior brackets: blind-side flush fastening where trim must sit tight.
- Metal door and window frames: profile-to-profile joints with no raised head to catch on weather seals.
- Thread form and pitch checked to ISO 1478
- Head recess depth and cross slot angle verified to ISO 4757 H form
- Hydrogen embrittlement relief baking for hardened carbon steel, when required
- Torque-to-failure and drive test sampling per lot
Quote by size, length, material grade, finish and packing format. Non-standard lengths, partial thread, sealing washers or captive washer assemblies are available against drawing or sample. Send the sheet thickness and target torque and we will confirm the pilot hole and size combination.
