Difference between flat welding flange and butt welding flange:
1.Welding method
In the name we can clearly see the difference between the two: flat welding and butt welding. Specifically, the pipe diameter and wall thickness of the joint end of the flat welding flange are the same as the pipe to be welded, and they are welded together in a flat way. The butt welding flange is a recess with a slightly larger diameter than the outer diameter of the pipe. The pipe is inserted in the socket and then welded.
2.On materials
Compared with Ningbo butt-welded flanges, flat-welded flanges are simpler in structure, use less material, and have less rigidity and tightness than butt-welded flanges. Generally, it is mainly used in the connection of medium and low pressure vessels and pipelines.
3. Processing
The butt welding flange adopts a punching die to punch into a half-ring elbow or a casting mold to directly cast into a half-ring elbow, and then two half-ring elbows are welded in groups. The flat welding flange uses a gasket, which is a ring made of a material that can produce plastic deformation and has a certain strength.
