Monel 400 Hexagon Lock Nut with Vespel Insert Our Monel 400 hexagon lock nut is machined from Monel 400 (UNS N04400) nickel-copper alloy and fitted with a Vespel polyimide insert. The Vespel insert keeps the prevailing-torque locking action working at higher temperatures, while the Monel 400 body delivers outstanding resistance to seawater, hydrofluoric acid, sulfuric acid and alkali.
